Connectivity

- Audio
All inTone and interFX applications require an audio interface to input and output the audio signal. The inputs and outputs can be connected to various sources or destinations:
Inputs:
- Electric guitar, bass, microphone or synthesizer
- Aux-send outputs of a mixing console
- Inserts of a mixing console
- Any part of the hardware processing chain
- Turntables and tape recorders for recording of audio used for restoration
Outputs:
- Amplifiers, combos, powered speakers, headphones
- Aux returns to the mixing console
- Inserts of a mixing console
- Any part of the hardware processing chain
Visit the Setup Examples section to learn how to use intone in various audio environments.
- MIDI
inTone and interFX Pro applications receive MIDI data from any MIDI interface connected to your computer. There are two basic types of MIDI data, handled differently.
- MIDI notes are sent to the software synthesizers opened in inTone or to external hardware synthesizers.
Usually MIDI keyboards or guitar audio/MIDI converters may be connected as the source of MIDI notes.
- MIDI control commands are used to adjust parameters of the processed sound or to load the complete programs.
There are many control surfaces suitable for inTone control:
MIDI foot controllers
MIDI keyboards with control knobs, buttons and sliders
Desktop MIDI controllers
MIDI control can be even received from another computer via network or via standard MIDI cables
- Computer keyboard
It is good to know that you may use:
- Full sized computer keyboard with a one-key control for the most frequent inTone functions.
- Just the numeric keypad to load programs and tracks. Use this solution if your space is limited.
