? You want to record the inTone output in GarageBand

! You need SoundFlower by Cycling 74.

  • Install SoundFlower
  • Select SoundFlower 2ch as inTone Output
  • Select SoundFlower 2ch as GarageBand or Logic Input
  • Be sure to have set input and output channels in inTone EDIT panel properly
  • Turn POWER on on the inTone panel and record in Garageband or Logic

? You want to record the iTunes track simultaneously with your keyboard performance

! You need SoundFlower by Cycling 74 and inTone Keys, inTone Matrix or the Pro version of inTone Guitar / Bass.

  • Install SoundFlower
  • Select SoundFlower 2ch as inTone Input
  • Select SoundFlower 2ch as the Default Output in System Preferences / Sound
  • Open any software instrument in an inTone chain
  • Use another chain for audio input, select channels 1 and 2
  • You may even apply effects to the iTunes output
  • Play the SW instrument simultaneously with iTunes playback, possibly recording the mix in the Master chain.
  • To mix the audio input from audio interface with iTunes requires some tweaking with the 16 ch version of SoundFlower. We'll add advices after more thorough testing.


? You want to play your guitar (bass, ...) or sing with a microphone. You want to monitor clean signal, but you want to record signal with effects.

! You need: inTone Guitar Pro, Bass Pro, Keys Express, Keys Pro, Matrix Express, Matrix Pro

  1. Open Program Editor.
  2. Select the desired input in chain A.
  3. Select a channel pair in the Chain A output - do not select Master
  4. Select the same input for Chain B as you have selected for chain A
  5. Select Master as output of the chain B
  6. Select different output pair for Master than you've selected for Chain A
  7. Add the desired effects to chain B or to Master
  8. Listen to non-effected signal in channels selected on output of the chain A, to the effected signal in the channels selected for Master



? You want to record several players monitoring them individually but recording the whole band

! You need: inTone Keys Express, Keys Pro, Matrix Express, Matrix Pro

  1. Open Program Editor.
  2. Assign an input channel to each source and select these channels in chain input selectors.
  3. For instance: You connect guitar to channel 1, bass to channel 2, you play a virtual instrument. So you select inputs in chains: 1, 1 in chain A, 2, 2 in chain B, None in chain C where you open the virtual instrument.
  4. Select channel pairs in the Chain output - do not select Master.
  5. Set the level to be recorded by the Aux slider in each chain
  6. Set the recording level using Master Aux slider and Master faders
  7. Set the level of signal sent to individual monitors using faders in each chain
