Troubleshooting
The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. (W. Churchill)
If the the application crashes, the reason is probably in an incompatible plug-in or corrupted data in the imported preset.
Note: Please understand that there is nothing like "crashing plug-in". I there is a software bug in a plug-in loaded in a host application, the bug causes the whole application to crash. If you experience problems with certain effect or instrument, report them in our support or feedback form.
- Hold the Shift key on your computer keyboard for all the time the application is starting. It will skip searching for plug-ins and loading settings and the last program.
-
DO NOT reinstall the Mac version. There is no point. If you want to have a clean installation, locate the com.audiffex.common folder in your preferences (Home/Library/Preferences) and move it to a backup location. Then run the application.
- To let us help you if the application crashes, send us Crash Reports generated by Mac OS X or Windows Vista operating systems. Such an option does not exist for Windows XP. Copy the contents of the Crash Report window to an e-mail message or to the form in the Ask Audiffex tab and send it to us.
If you don't hear any sound, there are several reasons, also explained in the FAQ section:
- Instrument (guitar) connected to the right channel while the application is set to process the left channel.
- Speakers connected to the computer instead of the audio interface used for input (Windows only, Mac can handle this situation, if set properly in preferences).
- POWER is not ON.
- The Noise Gate effect (if used in the processing chain) has too high a threshold level.
Many troubles are caused by missing, outdated or improperly configured ASIO drivers on PC.
- Please refer to the Drivers page to learn how to use low latency audio software on PC.
